Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 10, 2013
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide were riveted to their screens watching the 2013 World Championship series and now that the victory parade is over, many are still amazed at the athlete?s ability to recover between games. For those wondering what the team’s athletic trainers used, John Brown and Miya Haag, the founders of the Pepsom Group actually created one of the secret weapons used – their product Pepsom Sports, the Original Sport Soak which helped with the team’s recovery during those grueling battles and even now, as they recuperate more leisurely. After all, Jay Sabol, head athletic trainer of this former 2012 Championship team had called the Pepsom Group’s corporate office in the midst of the Eastern Conference finals to order about a dozen cases of their product. Brown and Haag were ecstatic, wanting to help with their hometown team?s recovery and believed that another win would bring awareness of the many benefits of their magnesium-sulfate (Epsom salt)
Most viewers of sports events seldom remember that athletic trainers are behind most athletes, and they also deserve standing ovations for keeping their athletes able to perform at their peak. Their job is to protect their health and help them recover quickly from injuries, aching muscles, strains, bruising, and cramps by administering customized treatments. An athlete?s condition and recovery often determines their ability meet their goals, times, performance, and may even affect an entire season.
Hydrotherapy (water therapy) relieves discomfort, promotes physical well-being and is often the foundation of recovery in addition to other treatments. Knowing the key benefits of soaking, Brown and Haag developed this refreshing blend specifically for athletes, weekend warriors, and sports enthusiasts of all ages not to mention everyday consumers, as it can be found in the first aid sections of many national retail chains due to Brown?s 30 years of retailer relationships.
When Sabol had called weeks ago to rush another order, Brown loaded up cases normally set aside for investors and made a personal delivery to the American Airlines Arena. Dropping off there is always inspirational because the team’s receptionists and security personnel wear mini-versions of the team?s Championship rings, gifts from their thoughtful team owner. This time Sabol came out to greet and thank the founders. After wishing him and the team the best of luck, Brown and Haag promised to deliver even more cases the following week, which they did.
The trainer?s predecessor Ron Culp has been in the NBA for a record 37 years, the past 20 years with this winning team. He believes in the efficacy of soaking in this magnesium blend and actually recommended the spearmint and wintergreen formula to the company. Culp has since become the company?s Ambassador in order to educate the younger athletic trainers in both professional and collegiate sports about the benefits of soaking in this blend. Culp said ?All I know is, it works!?
Most coaches and athletes know that recovery normally involves soaking, either in ice baths and/or hot tubs of steaming water ? sometimes alternating between the two temperatures. The company wants to spread the word to all trainers and the public. Brown said, ?Magnesium sulfate soaks are known to soothe muscle soreness, reduce swelling, and calm the nervous system.? (The mineral) magnesium is the second most prevalent element in human cells and helps regulate over 325 enzymes, aids in muscle control, electrical impulses between cells, energy production and even the elimination of harmful toxins from the body. (1) Epsom Salt Council
The day after this team won the 2013 World Championship, Culp called Brown and Haag to let them know that he?d just left their training facility where two of the Big Three were soaking in the huge tubs filled with 20 lbs. of this magnesium soak and wished he could have taken that shot. They are in good company. Besides the consumers that know about Pepsom Sports, coaches and athletes such as Gary Uribe of San Jose State (formerly at Auburn University) and Adam Wright of UCLA – 3rd most veteran in the U.S. Olympics Water Polo soak in it regularly to revitalize aching muscles and ease strains. Wright even brought it to London for the team. The Pepsom Group?s blended concept for first aids has revived the entire magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) market, and delivers soothing relief to a multiple of ailments. Now that the secret is out, next year?s playoffs may be even more of a challenge because the competitors will likely also be experiencing the many benefits of this soaking aid.
The Company was pleased to provide this secret weapon to the 2013 World Championship team and would like to thank their athletic trainers for helping the team to accomplish this incredible back-to-back win.

New York City based modern day troubadour Natalie Gelman?s highly anticipated upcoming album may be called Streetlamp Musician, but the multi-talented singer/songwriter spent her recent whirlwind week at the world famous Sundance Film Festival kickin? it up indoors at some of the Park City area?s most popular venues.
Gelman?s fourth annual visit to Sundance included high profile live performances at the star-studded Fender Music Lodge (as part of the 9th Annual Fender Music Lodge Music & Media Legacy event), the NY Loves Film Lounge and the Koffeehouse Show, in addition to her participation in the tribute to legendary rock producer Eddie Kramer at Claim Jumpers.
Gelman also hit the local airwaves to promote these appearances, interviewing with both Park City TV and the Morning News show on KSL-TV , the local Salt Lake City NBC affiliate On the latter, the singer performed ?Sundance In Your Eyes,? a special song she wrote inspired by the Sundance experience, as well as two songs from her upcoming album, ?The Lion? and the title track ?Streetlamp Musician.?
?The Sundance Film Festival is always a very inspired place and time for me,? says Gelman. ?It’s enlivening, validating and comforting as an artist to be around so many creative people. Everyone who goes to Sundance gets this adrenalin rush that?s very childlike and exploratory. They also let their guard down–open their hearts even?and that’s the spirit I wrote ?Sundance in Your Eyes? with. The festival is a beautiful place where everyone, however briefly, is connected and you’re filled with the boldness you had as a child to create. It?s full of special moments every year I go and I hope I captured a bit of that in the song.?
Gelman, who tours regularly throughout the U.S., is releasing her new EP this spring titled– Streetlamp Musician?a six track set produced by Charlie Midnight (James Brown) and Mark Needham (The Killers) as an autobiographical nod to her humble beginnings as a street performer in NYC, which included ?busking? in the subway. The title track is about street performing and watching her hometown change over time.
Raised in the old West Village stomping ground of numerous songwriting greats, Gelman?who has been compared favorably to Jewel, Sheryl Crow and Joni Mitchell–grew up amidst artists and true bohemians. She borrowed a friend?s guitar at 16, began composing songs on it immediately and began busking on subway platforms when she grew tired of pretending to be 21 to play clubs in the city.
Captivating tourists and straphangers alike in the subway, Gelman stopped even the most hurried commuters in their tracks with her powerful voice. She continues to play what she calls her favorite stage while also performing at the House of Blues, Webster Hall and festivals across the country. In its four star review, The New York Post, echoing many publications across the country, raved ?Simply Terrific.?
True to these roots, Gelman first captivated the stars, filmmakers, movie fans and dealmakers of Sundance three years ago by simply showing up and busking on the streets of Park City. Dave Collins, who works in Entertainment Marketing with Fender Musical Corporation, liked what he heard and signed her up to play an official gig at the Fender Music Lodge the very next day! Asheville, NC (PRWEB) December 04, 2012
The Asheville Jung Center is pleased to announce the release of a video seminar on the Mayan Doomsday Prophecy and its effect on people around the globe. Three renowned Jungian psychoanalysts connected via internet feed explore the interior mysteries of apocalypse and specifically the prophecies of the ancient Mayan tradition. There is an interior dimension to prophecy like the Mayan Prophecy or Revelations that may be more compelling than the outer details. The full video presentation is now available for purchase. The Asheville Jung Center was founded in 2008 to advance the psychology of Carl Jung and promote an international Jungian community. It is affiliated with innerQuest Psychiatry and Counseling, a regional psychiatrist group.
People are looking for clues that can help decipher the meaning and implications of the Mayan prophecies. The impression that the world may come to some cataclysmic end is deeply etched into the human psyche and appears as a recurring motif. The Asheville Jung Center is at the leading edge of exploring the significance of the Mayan Prophecy. ?There is an aspect of the primitive part of our brain that fears the abyss; this finds expression in sacred literature and in various myths and rituals of ancient cultures, and the failure to acknowledge this notion of annihilation may result in acting out these themes in aberrant ways.” says Dr. Steven Buser, co-founder of the Asheville Jung Center. Dr. Len Cruz, also of the Asheville Jung Center, offered several examples of aberrant patterns evident in current events ??the denial of the evidence concerning environmental degradation, the paralysis in dealing with the impending fiscal crisis in the US and elsewhere, and the psychic numbing as described by the psychiatrist, Robert J. Lifton in association with the threat of nuclear destruction that was initially identified in survivors of Hiroshima.?
The public’s attention has been fixed on the image of apocalypse since it became known that the Maya Calendar “ends” on December 21, 2012. Does this mean the world will end on that day? This shocking prospect has encouraged a response from the deeper layers of the human imagination, which has brought back into collective awareness the archetypal image of the apocalypse. This theme has been inscribed in Western consciousness by the Biblical canon with the final Book, The Book of Revelation, featuring images of the world’s destruction, the end of time, the Last Judgment and the New Jerusalem. Is this what humanity is facing on December 21, 2012?
Nancy Furlotti has extensively studied the Maya Calendar and in her presentation explores the meaning of the ending of the present historical cycle as conceived by the Maya mythologists. Hers is a fascinating story replete with archeological data, images of Maya culture, and ancient reflections about temporal cycles of vast proportions. Can some of the insights from Maya myth prove to be relevant to issues of this current day? Certainly the myth of the end of time strikes a deep chord in the contemporary psyche.
The emotional issues stirred up by apocalyptic scenarios are what psychological practitioners — counselors, psychotherapists, psychoanalysts — take a special interest in. What depths of the psyche are being activated in these times? The great mythic images have a psychological meaning and are part of a general transformation process going on within a global culture now in formation. Many events, both those that are humanly contrived and those that are purely natural, are caught up in the webs of meaning woven by the human imagination when it looks at the world through apocalyptic lenses. Is Mother Nature punishing human greed and pride with earthquakes, droughts, hurricanes, volcanic actions, tsunamis, etc.? Is the Last Judgment upon us for our hubris? Alternatively, is the apocalypse the beginning of something entirely new, a ‘new world order’ that will be an improvement on the old? A vast Mayan Age is about to end and another to begin, the Age of Pisces is changing into the Age of Aquarius, and the whole world is being turned upside down politically, financially, naturalistically, and culturally.
Jung was attuned intuitively to the enormous cultural shift that is underway. One of his last essays considers the wide observation of flying saucers as the harbinger of a visitation that will inaugurate a new era of human consciousness just as the appearance of a savior two thousand years ago inaugurated the Christian Aeon and the Age of Pisces. Does the world stand on the precipice of such a dramatic moment in world history? Such are the thoughts that arise as all consider the theme of this timely seminar.
The Asheville Jung Center is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. This course meets the qualifications for 5.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFT’s & LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
